types of starts in track and field

Introduction

Students will learn the two different types of starts in track and field and the event to which they are associated. students will demonstrate the correct techniques when executing the different starts. students will work willing in groups. students will explain the coaching points while demonstrating the different start.   

Task

students will use online resources to learn about the two types of starts in track and field and the events to which they are associated.

students will state varying coaching points associated with each type of start. 

students will be able to practice and demonstrate these starts during class individually and colloaboratively.

 

Process

vocabulary. crouch start, standing start, Bridge positioning, five point.

students will be assigned to watch videos that demonstrate and explain the various starting position  along with instruction on how to correctly execute them.  

student will be able to demonstrate each starting position, and discuss the coaching point and affiliated events.
