Three main Ocean Zones

Introduction

The Earth 's surface is covered by 71% of saltwater. This large body of saltwater is known as an ocean. Although there is one global ocean, it is split into four distinct regions or four oceans. You are a scuba diver, diving deep into the ocean to discover its mysteries. Be wary of the different creatures that may be lurking in the ocean.

You have your dive suit on and your fins on along with the rest of your gear. And don't worry, you are not diving alone. You and two other divers will be in a group, each picking a specific zone of the Ocean. You are just about ready to dive into the ocean, but before you flip off this boat, you must draw and label the items listed below:

  • The three main zones of the ocean.
  • For each zone:
    • Three different sea creatures lurking in the ocean zone you chose.
    • Three facts about this zone.

Once you and your friends have come back to the surface, you and your group members will be provided a poster paper that is separated into the three main regions of the ocean. On this poster you will include drawings and labels for the items above and list three fun facts about your zone. Have fun divers!
