Introduction

3rd-grade students get a surprise when the zoo gate open! And the animals run into their classroom. Students will have to wrangle and identify the animals to help put them back in the zoo exhibits.

Introduction

This WebQuest is for 3rd-grade students. Students will learn the qualities, habitats, and nature of exotic animals. By finding and identifying characteristics of the animals they can help place and match the animals to their zoo exhibit.

Task

Animals

Today the North Carolina Zoos gate let out all the animals! Your job as a group is to catch the animals. First name the animals.  Then research where they live. Identify some of the characteristics that make that animal special! Be Careful! Make it back to the classroom before the bell and tell us where the animals should be shipped back to.

Process

You are going to be the Animal Expert, Habitat Manager and the Animal Nutritionists all in one.  You will use the websites below to choose three animals that you are not familiar with to learn more about.  You need to find out three things about the animal.  They are:

1) Where is the animal originally from? (Which continent)

2) What does this animal eat?

3) Features or characteristics of the animal.
