Scientific Notation

Introduction

What is Scientific Notation?

Scientific Notation is a way to write really long like 123,000,000,000(which by the way is 1.23 x 1011).

For more information on what Scientific Notation is,look at the website here.

Task

Your task is to explore this webquest and learn about scientific notation(and see if you can find the secret links).

Process

In Scientific Notation The co-efficient must be above 1 and less than 10.

The exponent represents the number of places the decimal will move to make the coefficient higher than 1 and less than 10. For example, 3,600,000,000,000 or 3.6 trillion would be written as

3.6 x 1012

To practice expressing a number in scientific notation, look at this site.
