Introduction

Volcano Webquest!
You are a volcanologist who is unafraid of researching the most dangerous volcanoes! When others are afraid, you volunteer for the job! On this dangerous assignment you will be required to get up close to one of the world's most exciting volcanoes! Your mission is to gather important facts and bring them back to Professor Kaiser as well as your fellow volcanologists. Be careful, nobody knows if or when this volcano will erupt again. Good luck!
This is a three-part project:
Part 1: Written report
Part 2: Hands-on volcano creation
*Part 3: Presentation (The presentation will not be graded, but is required. *Creative presentations can be prepared for extra credit!)
We will complete the written part in class. The hands-on part is to be done at home and can be started any time after your volcano has been selected and approved. You will be re-creating the exact volcano that you researched. Create the volcano out of any material. It can erupt too! Some materials that may help are plastic bottles, paper mache, clay and paint.
IMPORTANT POINTS:
*Erupting volcanoes must have some form of short sides attached to the base to prevent major messes!*
*Creative presentations need to be prepared and practiced in advance if you are doing it for extra credit!
*Your project must be submitted with a bibliography showing all Internet/database/book sources! You need at least 2 sources!
* Visit our library and ask Ms. Byrne for assistance.
