Introduction

Jewish Philosophy

 ~An exploration of classical through modern Jewish thought & thinkers~

The purpose of this WebQuest is to RESEARCH your assigned Jewish thought and thinker in order to create a PowerPoint presentation.  The purpose of the PowerPoint is to be able to use it as a teaching tool so that the entire class can benefit from your researching efforts.  You will be required to PRESENT your findings to the class at the end of February 2015.

Task

Directions:

1)  You will be divided into groups of 3

2)  Each group will be assigned a thinker and his/her associated philosophy to research; you will find links to each thinker and philosophy on subsequent pages

3)  The group members will be responsible for certain jobs:

             --Group Leader (responsible for making sure that the group is on task; also will be    the spokesperson for the group; will make sure that all group members have an equal say in how the PowerPoint is designed and presented to the class)

             --Operator (responsible for actually using the computer so that the group can use it to conduct research and create the PowerPoint)

             --Notetaker (responsible for taking notes from the websites visited and making sure that they are properly cited)

4)  The groups will begin and conclude their research inside of 30-40 minutes

5)  The Notetaker will share with the teacher the notes BEFORE the group will be able to design a PowerPoint presentation

6)  The groups will design a PowerPoint presentation that includes:  1 Title Slide, 5 Body Slides, 1 Conclusion Slide, 1 Works Cited Slide  ***each slide must contain at least one image and the notes that were taken from your research***

7)  The groups will present their PowerPoint presentation to the class

You will be evaluated on your ability to research productively and appropriately, your creativity in terms of your PowerPoint execution, and your ability to teach the class about your assigned subject area.

Remember, your PowerPoint presentation must be at least 6 slides long (see Task page)
