SUMMER HOLIDAYS IN THE UK

Introduction

Dear students, 

You are going to move to the UK because you want to learn English during your summer holidays. You have to search information about several cities in order to go to the place that best fits you. Depending on your interests each city provides you different things. So, your aim is to find the best city for you. 

There is one city that you can't afford to go: London. It is too expensive and you can't afford the accommodation there. 

Task

You have to make a presentation talking about all the advantages about the city that you have chosen. It is important to make clear:

- Why is the best city for you?

- Can you study English in a language school or summer camp?

- Can you tell me some curious facts about the city? 

 

Process

One way to find out which is the best city for you is just to search information depending on your interest.

Visual- Art

Not very creative or appealing. Not use of presentation in power point or any other visual device. 

Project is somewhat neat, but needs work. Presentations not really visual, and it does not have any point which really interest the rest of the classmates. 

Project is very neat, but the organization is not as good as it could be. A good presentation with really creative points and appealing to the rest of the students. 

The project is neat and orderly. There are many visuals which help a lot in their presentation. Everything is creative and appealing. 

Task design 

Students did not decide where they want to go at all. 

Students did not finish at all with all the questions related to the topic

Students planned most of the aspects related to the task. 

Students planned a perfect trip to the UK taking into account what it is important to them. 

Grammar and vocabulary

Used basic vocabulary and they had lots of grammar mistakes. 

Used of grammar basic, although they used some vocabulary from the websites that were provided. 

Used of grammar correct although their vocabulary is quite basic with some words from the websites that were provided.

Used appropriate grammar which has been explained at class and the vocabulary is accurate to the topic. 

Comprehension

They do not show a clear comprehension

Only some concepts are understood while there are other which are not clear at all. 

Students understood the task and they have completed all the points in a basic way.

The task is completely understood and they have done a really good job. 

Conclusion
