Introduction
Hello my grade 5 students. In today's lesson we will be focusing on the food chain. Let us get ready to learn!
What is a food chain? A food chain is a sequence that shows the transfer of energy from one organism to another, as organism eat and are eaten.
The food chain consists of:
- Producer: Organisms that make their own food. E.g.: green plant
- Herbivore: Organisms that that only eat plants.
- Carnivore: Organisms that eat animals.
- Omnivore: Organisms that eat both plants and animals.
Task
The students will:
- Watch and listen attentively to the YouTube video on food chains and take notes on the roles of producers, herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores.
- Properly complete the Google Forms quiz related to food chains.
- Accurately construct their own food chain using the knowledge gained from the lesson, students must include producers, herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores in their food chain.
