Amphibians and Reptiles

Introduction

From reading about the adventures of Frog and Toad, we have also learned about frogs and toads.
For this activity, you will work with a partner and you will be researchers today.

You will do a research on amphibians and reptiles.
We have learned about what amphibians are. Now you will learn what reptiles are and compare the two.
Reptiles and amphibians are two different types of animals but they are also similar in some ways.

Look at their characteristics like the shape, color, size, and texture.
What make these two different types of animals different? What makes these two animals the same?

Learn more about how reptiles and amphibians live, what they eat, how they give birth, their life cycle and compare the two.

And most importantly do not forget to have fun!

Enjoy this webquest!

Task

Together with your partner, you will do a research on amphibians and reptiles.
Look at their characteristics like the shape, color, size, and texture.
What make these two different types of animals different? What makes these two animals the same?
Research on where amphibians live, what they eat, how they give birth, as well as their life cycle.
Research on where reptiles live, what they eat, how they give birth, as well as their life cycle.

Then compare the two.

Remember our lesson on Venn Diagram?
You will put your research and compare your findings on amphibians and reptiles using a Venn Diagram.

Process

1. With your partners, you will do a research on amphibians and on reptiles.
Learn about their physical characteristics, habitat, what they eat, as well as their life cycle.

Here is the search engine that you will use to start your research:
http://www.gogooligans.com/

2. Write down what you have found on amphibians and reptiles and make a list. One list for amphibians and one list for reptiles. Remember to research on their characteristics like size, shape, texture, color, where and how they give birth, how the protect themselves, what they eat, and even their predators and prey.

If you want to use the kids planet website, you will have to choose a specific reptile or amphibian.
http://www.kidsplanet.org/

3.  After you have done your research and completed your list, you will now make a Venn diagram.
You will compare the similarities and differences between reptiles and amphibians.

Conclusion

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You have now completed your first webquest!

After doing this webquest, you now know more about amphibians and reptiles.
You know about their characteristics as well as the differences and similarities between the two types of animals.

Also, you have done a Venn diagram on your own!
You can use the Venn diagram again when you do another research.

Good job 2E2!
