“The structure of government” means simply the organized exercise of state power in some formal hierarchical system or as a natural and other flexible arrangement to govern, to adopt them in an effort focused on achieving public goals with many government and nongovernment elections.

Task

Your task is to investigate the structure and functions of the Philippine government.

Create a 5–7 slide PowerPoint presentation or infographic that includes:

  • The three branches of government
  • The functions of each branch
  • Key officials in each branch
  • How the branches check and balance each other

a. Executive—Headed by the President (Head of State/Head of Government) and with cabinet secretaries, it is governed following the 1987 Constitution.

b. Legislative—The law-making organ is bicameral, consisting of the Senate (composed of 24 Senators) and the House of Representatives (composed of district and party-list representatives).

c. Judicial—The Supreme Court, headed by the Chief Justice and 14 associate justices, who resolve legal disputes.
