Introduction

Students will use a combination of guided and independent practice to build skills in strength training. The lesson will contribute to their mastery of Iowa PE standards and SHAPE America guidelines, fostering a positive attitude toward fitness

SHAPE America Standard 4: Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness

Task

This lesson helps students achieve skills in the proper use of the Rack Coach system and general strength-training techniques, helping them meet the standards in lifelong health and fitness.

Process

Students will demonstrate correct form in Rack Coach strength-training exercises, focusing on one to two specific movements (e.g., squats or bench press)

At the end of the term, I will ask students to complete a self-assessment based on their personal goals that were created at the beginning of the term.
