Stranded!

Introduction

Good morning students! Welcome aboard The No Parents Plane! Today, you are going on a class trip to an unknown destination. Enjoy your journey!

Uh oh! Something went wrong on your journey, and your plane has crashed onto an unknown island. The pilot has died. Your survival depends on you and other members of your group. What will you do? Work with your group to figure out how you will survive and what you will need to do.

Good luck!

Task

Your task is to work as a team in order to survive. Each group will have 4 members. Elect one person in your group to be the leader.

Think about what you would need in order to survive without any parental supervision. Think about the leader you chose and why you chose them as a leader.

As a group, you will need to create tasks and rules.

Process

Time to get your group organized!

  1. Elect team leader

  2. make a list of tasks you and your group members must do to survive on the island (such as building shelter).

  3. go over your list and put the tasks in order from most important to least important.

  4. assign each group member(s) to a specific task.

  5. make a list of ten rule that your group will need to follow and obey if you are to survive in peace and harmony (with little conflict).

  6. assign each group member a part of the island to explore in order to create a map. Answer the following questions: what does your part of the island look like? How can you utilize this section of the island? What can be used in this section of the island to help your rescue? What possible dangers could be here?

  7. Create a map with all parts of the island that your team members explored.

Learning Advice:

Conclusion

Look! A ship has come to rescue you all! By this time, you should have learned how to work with your group successfully and tried to settle any conflicts that may have occurred during your time on the island.

Now that we have figured out our personal survival plans, let us take a look at Lord of the Flies and discover how their survival plans worked out.
