Stories

Introduction

Writing is a creative process. We have to think how to tell a story to make it sound real. Here you will find different tools and resorces to help you be a good story teller. Enjoy!

To introduce the topic, we read a short story from the coursebook “Gold experience”  about a teenager who wants  to discover his talent and takes up a Turkish language course. After reading the story you have to identify the main character, the setting and topic. Then, orally, you should say in your own words what the story is about. Finally,  pay attention to the order in which the story is told and try to state the 3 parts of this genre; introduction, conflict and the end. After doing so,  look at the verbs used in the story (past simple and continuous). Together we think about their use and write them on the board. Now, give examples using these tenses.

Task

Write a story of about 120 words (real or invented) using Past simple and continuous. Remember to include the 3 parts of a story: introduction, conflict and resolution. It's important to use adjectives to make the story more interesting and connectors.
