Introduction

We have been discussing the connections between Australia and South Africa. This week, in small groups, you will research information about South Africa and share it with the class. 

Task

We are currently in the middle of the 2019 Rugby World Cup which is being played in South Africa. As you may well be aware, Australia and South Africa have a close rivalry in sport, particularly in rugby.

You are now an ambassador for South Africa and you are headed to Japan to promote South Africa to the many tourists who are visiting. Your job is to create one page of a brochure with your group which you can use as marketing material. 

Process

Shortly, I will divide you into your groups. Your job is to work within your allocated group to produce a page (or pages) for a brochure that can be used to promote South Africa. You can present your brochure however you choose (handwritten, publisher, word document etc).

Group 1

You need to research and take notes on the following:

  • What is the population of South Africa?
  • A brief history of South Africa 
  • Official Languages of South Africa
  • Cultural Information
  • Weather Section that gives maximum and minimum temperatures for the main cities
