Task

Handout #1: Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)

DAW, digital audio workstation is a software used to produce music. Some popular DAW include Ableton Live, Logic Pro GarageBand and FL Studio among others. The choice in DAW depends on the computer one is using, their budget and personal preference. Most have free trials so if one doesn’t plan on using them for long, they can take advantage of the free trial or use it to choose what they prefer.

Handout #2: MIDI Controller

While one can use a keyboard and mouse for the same job, it will be slower. A MIDI controller enables you to work faster and produce music that sounds more natural as it captures the velocity one plays with and the small details especially if other instruments such as the piano are used.
