Introduction
This Webquest is designed to help learners to understand the problems that have a negative influence in the society and economy. This will teach them about the impact crime, poverty, inequality and other social factors have affected people in a bad way. Learners are tasked to study the effects of crime and poverty in South Africa. Students are tasked to investigate the reasons for unemployment and the impact of HIV/AIDS on the society and the community. Students are challenged to evaluate how the inequalities impact the development of communities and education. This Webquest is designed for high school learners that are studying Business Studies Grade 10-12 and it addresses the daily activities that are happening around these learners so this Webquest gives them a chance to learn more about them.
Task
South Africa is facing challenges the economic development of the country, because of the COVID19 pandemic the level of high unemployment has went up and workers are receiving low wages. This factor is the heart of many of the socio economic development challenges as these problems result in crime, a state of inequality and a poverty cycle. This results in high divorce rates and absent parents which will amount to a lack of guidance and value instilled in young people, this will cause other negative effects such as teenage pregnancy and substance abuse which will result in high HIV/AIDS rate.
You are required to address the issue of crime on what causes it and how it can be maintained and destroyed, discuss on how inequality impacts the development of education and societies. Show how HIV/AIDS and Unemployment impacts businesses and people's lives in general.
