Simple Present Tense

Introduction

Simple present tense is used to describe habits, unchanging situations, general truths, and fixed arrangements.

Grammar Structure

1. Affirmative (Subject + Verb(add -s/es to the t3rd person singular) + Complement)

2. Negative (Subject +Aux. do/does + not + Verb + Complement)

3. Interrogative (Aux. do/does + Subject + Verb + Complement + ?)

1. For repeated or regular actions in the present time period.

3. For habits.

  • get up early every day.

4. For things that are always / generally true.
