A Walk Through American History

A literature webquest design for 3rd grade

Would you like to take a walk back in time? Would you like to discover history first hand? Would you like to meet people you have never met?....... Well, Here's your chance. In the magic time machine you can travel back in time you could become detectives or great historians.

Task

You are about to travel back in time.  Are you ready to see the very people you have read about in history books?  As you travel back in time you must keep notes and drawings in your journal.  Your job is to research the people and places you discover in your travels back in time.  Your journal will be documentation of your travels.

Process

1. Read Barack Obama of Thee I Sing

2. Write in notes your journal about each person.

3. Answer the following questions on your worksheet.

4. Draw a picture of your favorite person in history.

5. Explain why he/she is your favorite?

6. Complete the following worksheet.

7. If you wrote a book, who would you write your book about and why?
