Task

Your task is to choose a common object or problem and use one of the Seven Creative Strategies to redesign or improve it. You will create a digital presentation or prototype using tools like Canva, Microsoft Word, or Photoshop to showcase your idea. You will also reflect on how your chosen strategy and technology contributed to your solution.

Process

  1. Review the Creative Strategies

    • Seven Creative Strategies:
      • Substitute
      • Combine
      • Adapt
      • Modify/Magnify/Minify
      • Put to Another Use
      • Eliminate
      • Reverse
    • Watch again the SCAMPER Technique video to better understand how these strategies work
  2. Choose Your Tool or Problem

    • Select a common tool or problem in your everyday life or in education. For example, you might choose to improve a pencil, redesign a classroom layout, or solve a problem like reducing paper waste in schools.
  3. Apply a Creative Strategy

    • Choose one of the Seven Creative Strategies to transform your selected tool or solve your chosen problem.
    • For example:
      • Substitute: Replace a physical notebook with a digital app like Google Docs.
      • Combine: Merge elements from two unrelated tools to create a new solution.
      • Modify/Magnify: Enhance an existing product, making it more user-friendly or eco-friendly.
  4.  Use Digital Tools to Create Your Solution

    • Use a digital tool to showcase your creative solution. For instance:
      • Canva: Create a visual design or infographic explaining your solution.
      • PowerPoint: Design a presentation to illustrate your innovative idea.
      • Photoshop: Design a prototype or mock-up of your improved tool or solution.
    • Ensure that your digital project reflects your chosen strategy clearly and creatively.
  5.  Reflect on Your Process

    • After completing your project, write a short reflection addressing the following:
      • Which creative strategy did you use, and why?
      • How did using technology help you develop and present your solution?
      • How did you ensure responsible and ethical use of digital resources?
      • What steps did you take to promote good digital citizenship (e.g., proper credit for images or resources used)?
  6. You will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

    Criteria Points
Application of the Chosen Creative Strategy 25
    Effective Use of Technology 25
Clarity, Creativity, and Impact of Solution 25
    Reflection on Digital Citizenship 25
Evaluation

5. Encouraging students to reflect on their learning through different modes like writing, speaking, or drawing is not an effective way to develop their critical thinking skills.

Conclusion
