Introduction

Do you know how to introduce yourself and others in English? There are a lot of way to express your introduction in the public.

Expressing your introduction means that you let people to know about yourself and someone you want to introduce.

When do we express our introduction? When we met stranger and someone new or when we are in a forum with audiences, etc.

Today you’ll learn about how to introduce yourself and others. Let’s go!

Task

You’re going to familiarize yourself about how to introduce yourself and others even in a conversation or in the forum with audiences which later are used by you to make a role play recorded in the form of video.

Follow the steps activities in the “processes” part of this WebQuest.

Process

Step1: Grouping

Create a group consists of four students

Step2: What are the expression of introducing used?

Get yourself familiar with the expressions of introducing yourself and others. Open the links that I attached below and take a note of the vocabulary that mostly used in introducing yourself and others.

Step3: How to introduce yourself and others

After knowing the expressions of introducing used, try to see how they are used in communication. Visit the link that I attached and watch the videos. Pay attention to the use of the language signs and the situation. Find it out yourself!

Step4: What is a role-play?

Learn to know what a role play is and how to make it through the links I’ve attached. Then make a dialogue using the expression of introducing yourself and others you’ve learned.

Step5: Create a video

  • Create a video based on the conversation you’ve made with your teammates. Make sure it has a good quality.
  • Post your work through YouTube then submit the link on the Google Classroom within a week.

This WebQuest is created for students grade 10 of High School to help them create a roleplay project. The students are taken to step-by-step process of getting to know what, how, and examples of introducing themselves and others. The project will be done in groups and submitted within a week.

The target users of this WebQuest are High School Students grade 10 in the English Language class which are studied about Self and others introduction.

The project is based on the standard of the lesson plan.

Students are assigned to complete this WebQuest. The students need to do all steps in the process part of this WebQuest to prepare them to create their own project. The teachers give them two weeks to finish their project. The teacher should be available for consultation till the students are ready to submit their project. The submitted project is then assessed based on the evaluation rubric presented in the evaluation part of this WebQuest.
