Missing Mentor and the Conference

Introduction

You are part of a select student group that is focused on technology and learning. The leader is your mentor and responsible for determining your continued participation in this postdoctorate opportunity and possible future opportunities,

Your  mentor has been delayed in Africa, in an area that doesn't have cell or digitial access.  Tomorrow is the day your mentor is to present 4 sessions at the regional technology and education conference.  Your group will have to present at the conference for her.  You know the conference sessions are being videotaped and that your mentor will review each of the four presentations so you want to include all the topics your mentor would have included.

You search your mentor's office for plans, all you can find is an alphabetical list of the resource links your mentor used to develop the presentations.

Task

You and your group must identify the four broad topics of the presentations and select the resources you would use for each topic. You may not use any resource in multiple topics, but must include all the resources.  After you finish that task, the group should divide by topic and develop a plan for how the resources for each topic fit together.  Using the connection between your resources, identify a focus for your presentation.  You will create 1-3 slides to share with others in your group the focus of the presentation on your topic (1-2 complete sentences). The focus for the presentations should not be the same.

Process

1. You and your group must identify the four broad topics of the presentations and select the resources you would use for each topic. You may not use any resource in multiple topics, but must include all the resources.

2. Assign a group or individual to each topic. Develop a plan for how the resources for each topic fit together and identify a focus for your presentation.

3.  Create 1-3 slide to share how your resources are conneced and how you will focus your presentionation.  (The focus should be 1-3 sentences and provide specificity to the topic.)

4. If focus is the same for multiple presentations,  make adjustments so that the foci across topics are unique.
