8R Siege Activity

Introduction

Today you will continue on with the activity that we started yesterday.

This will be your only computer lesson so anything that you do not finish today will need to be finished before our next class.

This WebQuest has been designed so that you have a step by step guide that will tell you how to design and present your plan of attack. You will find links to websites to help you plan your attack and instructions on how what to consider.

Go forth and plan!

Task

-For this WebQuest, your task is to use the instructions and use the links to continue to plan your siege.

-All of the links provided in this WebQuest will help you create your plan, pay attention to the description of the website provided to help you create a holeproof plan.

-You will need to start creating the presentation that will explain your plan and continue to work on this between classes if you do not finish today.

Process

For this activity you are going to present your Siege plans in a PowerPoint presentation. The information you will need is detailed below. You will load your powerpoints onto EdModo when instructed.

Firstly: You need to come up with a backstory that explains why you have chosen this castle to lay siege too. Has the monarch offended you? Is there a fair maiden that has continually refused your proposal of marriage? Tell us about it! This should be the first slide of your presentation. You should include what you are hoping to get out of this.

Next: Tell us how long you are hoping the siege will be (some sieges lasted for YEARS, but you should be aiming for a few weeks). Also tell us how many people are in the castle you are attacking. This will influence how many men you will be bringing with you and where they will be located (YOU NEED TO TELL US THIS)

The next few slides will cover:

* Tell us what roles in the army you and your group partners are taking on in the siege (are you in charge of strategy? Patrolling the grounds?)

* What weapons are you going to use to achieve your goal? Tell us why you have chosen these weapons in particular.

* Tell us what areas of the castle you are going to be targeting and WHY

Lastly, tell us how it works out for you and your army. Did you fail miserably or were you victorious?

The websites below are for you to use in order to create a fool proof plan. Pay attention to the description of the website so you know what it can offer you.
