You are tasked with the mission of becoming a researcher into infectious diseases.
Your mission is to understand as many of the infectious diseases found in your country as possible.
This information will serve to help teachers, students, parents and other members of the school community preserve and protect their physical wellbeing.
Bring your laptop or ipad to help with your research.

Task
WALT
We are learning to identify signs of infectious diseases and identify how to respond.
TIB
This is because infectious disease can spread rapidly and pose significant risk to students and staff.
WILF
What I am looking for, is for your research to answer the following 3 questions.
You will report back with the categories of information that you have found answers to these questions:
- What is an infectious disease?
- How can we tell if someone maybe carrying an infectious disease? (What will it look like?)
- Are there steps we can take to stop spread of infectious diseases?
- Which is the best way to inform the school community about the dangers of infectious diseases.
- Where does it fit within the curriculum?
Process
You will now break into groups of 4.
Each group is to look at the diseases outlined for that group and share back to the whole group later.
From the following information answer the questions outlined in the task.
The questions are repeated here:
• What is an infectious disease?
• How can we tell if someone maybe carrying an infectious disease? (What will it look like?)
• Are there steps we can take to stop spread of infectious diseases?
• Which is the best way to inform the school community about the dangers of infectious diseases?
- Where does it fit within the curriculum?

Evaluation
Each group will now share what they have discovered today.
All staff are to write down on stick notes what they learnt when hearing about each groups disease list.
Conclusion
As a researcher you have investiagted many infectious diseases.
Finish today by making a group top 5 actions to do when it comes to preventing and prearing for infectious disease prevention.
