Route of the Journey

Introduction

My goodness! Our final investigation has arrived. My my have you come so far since our first meeting at Portsmouth those many months ago. I am so proud of you all but it is not time for celebrations just yet! We have one last task to complete...The journey of course! Let's hoist those sails and be on our way.

Sincerely,

Robert Smith of the First Fleet

Task

It grieves me to tell you that this past morning a rather clumsy young convict named John Hudson "dropped" our records to the wind and we have lost all our knowledge of the dates and locations of our journey! We need your help to re-timeline our travels across the many seas to the silent paradise at Botany Bay. Thankfully he had a sneaky couple records hiding under his pillow. We may have just enough to re-create history! Well what are you waiting for? Let's dive in!

Sincerely,

Robert Smith of the First Fleet

Process

Here are the last records! Read very carefully as we want every date and location accounted for. What ships were involved in the journey? What was there purpose? Write briefly what happened at each location in your timelines and make the best use of these sources. They're all we have left!

Evaluation

Our last investigation complete! It makes me sad to see you go but I'm sure you will put together a great end product in time for next morning's paper. You have used your great inquiry skills and now it's time to get to the finish line. I think I see Botany Bay! Farewell my brave reporters.

Sincerely,

Robert Smith of the First Fleet
