Subtracting and Adding Money for our Christmas Presents!

Introduction

Before you know it, it will soon be Christmas. That means our Christmas party is getting closer and you all have to get each other a present. We have spent the past couple of weeks subtracting and adding money, and we will get to use these skills in order to come up with the presents we will be exchanging.

Task

Each of you will be using play money, and I will give everyone $10. I will have several things for sale that you may purchase from me using your $10. Our goal is to buy as many items with our $10, but we must no go over this amount.

Process

Before you start grabbing items, you must first write a list of the items you want with the price. Then, you are to add the amount of each item, and if you go over your budget then you have to subtract an item along with the amount. These are the items I will be having for sale:

Boxes: $1.00 each                      Stickers: $0.35

Wrapping paper: $0.50               Pencils: $0.15

Construction paper: $0.25          Stamps:$0.45

Candy canes: $.50                     Goody bag:$1.30

Small stuffed animal: $1.50        Mini book: $0.75

Christmas cards: $0.75              Crayons:$0.50

Ribbon: $0.50                           Keychains:$0.50

Jewelry: $0.75                          Pins: $0.25

Toy cars/trucks: $0.75              Juice: $0.50

After I okay your list, you can start organizing and decorating your present.
