Introduction
Welcome dear students!
Look around you and see the many electrical appliances we use in our daily lives. Do you ever wonder what happened years ago so that its operation possible?
This webquest will you know the origins of the emergence of electricity in our society, how was its begining, their use in industry and households.
We will expand the knowledge seen in class and know the story and characters to which we must be thankful that today we enjoy electricity in our homes.
Task
"Dear Edison: I
Individually you will make a journey through history where you will meet Nikola Tesla and his ingenious inventions, and the "war" he had with another great inventor named Thomas Edison.
In this webquest you will be able to view videos and links that take you back to the past. this material is all you need to use to document yourself and make a digital presentation where response of the issues that you will see in the process section.
Process
Each work must be made using a digital presentation software (PowerPoint, Prezi, PowToon) and you have to explain what about the war of the currents and answer most of these questions:
- What advantages had the distribution of DC current in the late nineteenth century in the US?
- What reasons led to the need for a change in the type of current used?
- Which were the disadvantages of DC current to these new needs?
- What differences Tesla discovered on voltagein DC and AC?
- What was the first Hydroelectric plant in the world? What technology was used?
- How did Edison try to discredit Tesla and its new type of current in the media?

Evaluation
When you finish your presentation with the computer, you will present to the rest of the class using the proyector, so you should practise the way you are going to make it, and maybe you need to train a little bit ;)
