Resources of Our Planet — What Can We Use Forever?

Introduction

Every day we use electricity, fuel, water, and materials — but where do they come from?

Some Earth resources can last forever if we use them wisely, while others will eventually run out.

In this WebQuest, you will become Earth detectives, exploring the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources and how they affect our planet.

Questions you have to answer after watching.

  1. Where does our electricity come from?
  2. What is the energy that the sun produces? Is it a renewable or non-renewable energy resource?

Task

Work in groups and classify renewable and non-renewable energy resources through the poster:

Process

1) Teacher Explanation

Renewable resources are energy sources that will not run out because nature keeps replacing them.

They can be used again and again. For example, sunlight, wind.

Non-renewable resources are energy that can run out. Once we used them, they cannot be replaced quickly, it takes millions of years for new ones to form. For example, coal, oil, etc.

Conclusion

In this WebQuest, you explored where our energy and materials come from and why some resources can last forever while others cannot. Understanding these differences helps us make wiser choices in our everyday lives. By learning about renewable and non-renewable resources, you are now better prepared to support a healthier and more sustainable planet. Remember, even small actions—like saving electricity or reducing waste—make a big difference.
