Let's learn about Fermentation

Introduction
  1. Fermentation is a metabolic process that converts sugar to acids, gases and/or alcohol. It occurs in yeast and bacteria, but also in oxygen-starved muscle cells, as in the case of lactic acid fermentation.
Task

Ok Class lets take some time to answer these questions...

Process

Lactic Acid

1. When our cells need energy, what happens to the simple molecules?

2. What is the process for breaking down glucose anaerobically?

3. When don't our muscles cells receive the oxygen they need to perform aerobic respiration?
