Reducing Plastic Waste in Schools

Introduction

Introduction Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time. Students will explore how plastic waste affects ecosystems and communities, and discover practical ways schools can reduce their plastic footprint.

Task Students will work in small groups to design a “Plastic-Free School Campaign” that includes posters, announcements, and a short action plan. The end product will be a presentation to the class showcasing their campaign.

Process

  1. Read background articles on plastic pollution.

  2. Watch short videos about how communities reduce plastic waste.

  3. Research current school practices (e.g., cafeteria, classrooms).

  4. Brainstorm campaign ideas with your group.

  5. Create posters and a short action plan.

  6. Present your campaign to the class.
