Introduction

Recycling is one of the best ways for you to have a positive impact on the world in which we live. Recycling is important to both the natural environment and us. We must act fast as the amount of waste we create is increasing all the time.

But…Have you ever thought how to help? Have you ever tried to persuade people around you to recycle?

Now, you and your team will have the opportunity and responsibility to try to do that. You will try to persuade your schoolmates to recycle and to learn about it. Hands to work!

Task

You are part of an environmental activist team who is very concerned with recycling. You want to make the other students realize that we can make something useful.

For this webquest, your task as a member of an environmental activist team is to convince

The school community to recycle, reduce, and reuse by showing them facts and by informing them of the positive effects of recycling and by encourage them to recycle. You will do this by researching reasons for recycling, its positive effects, types of products that can be recycled, actions to encourage recycling. Your team will create a persuasive leaflet and a power point presentation promoting recycling in the school community.

Step 3: Decide on the most relevant information and design a power point presentation including that information and a leaflet persuading other students to recycle.

Step 4: Your team will present the power point presentation and the leaflet to the class and explain why you chose to include the information you did on your flyer. As a class we will comment on your flyer and decide which class flyer is the most persuasive to be presented to your schoolmates.

The audience got interested in the beginning but then lost interest because of the lack of interesting facts. The view of majority of students on recycling didn't change. The audience was very interested, asked a lot of questions, the view of majority of students on recycling changed. The audience was extremely interested, they had fun, they asked a lot of questions, their view on recycling changed, they wanted to help to convince other people to recycle.

TEAM WORK The students didn't really work as a team, they had a lot of fights among the members, the majority is not satisfied with the outcome. The student worked as a team but they weren't really open to each other's ideas, the majority is not satisfied with the outcome. The students all worked as a team, they helped each other, but some of them think that the team work /or the outcome/ could have been better. The students all worked as a team, they were encouraging each other, they listened to each other's ideas, they helped each other with their responsibilities, they are all satisfied with the outcome.
