Introduction

Animals are EVERYWHERE! Some animals we never see, others we see everyday. You are about to go on a journy to learn more about some of the animals of North America. You will find cool facts, photos, and little known information about your animal.

Task
The zoo needs new animal experts to share information with their visitors. Your class has been asked to be the experts for the next two weeks. Your job is to pick an animal to become an expert on and create a presentation about this animal. You will be able to use a computer if you choose for your presentation.

Process
1. Choose your animal from the list your teacher has.
2. Gather your materials: Information paper, pencil, computer/iPad
3. Follow the links below to find 20 facts about your animal.
4. Use the photos from the links to draw a picture of your animal.
5. Have your Information paper checked by your teacher.
If you are in blue group:
6. Find five photos of your animal and print these photos.
7. Using the facts you have collected and your photos create an information poster. Include at least 15 facts.
If you are in green group:
6. Find three photos of your animal and print these photos.
7. Pick your favorite 10 facts to create "baseball" cards about your animals.
8. On the back of your three photos list 5 or more facts about your animal.
If you are in red group:
6. Create a PowerPoint presentation using 10 of your facts. Incert a picture on EACH slide of your animal.
7. Save your PowerPoint on the computer.
8. Share your PowerPoint with the class.

Evaluation

Your teacher will grade your Information paper as well as your presentation. Your teacher is looking to see that you have 20 facts and at least two pictures that you have drawn or printed. Your teacher is also looking to see that you included facts and pictures in your PowerPoint and that you share the information with your class.
You will earn up to 5 points for having all 20 facts on your paper.
You will earn up to 20 points for having a picture and a fact on each PowerPoint slide.
You will earn up to 5 points for sharing your information with the audience (the class).
Conclusion
GREAT JOB!! You found great information about your animal! You were an awesome animal expert for the zoo! All of the visitors to the zoo enjoyed learning about all of
the animals.
