Introduction
In this WebQuest, you will be studying how Surface area for three-dimensional figures can be solved using regular problems/situations on other assignments, and in real world situations. You will be given pictures to look at and solve as well as word problems to expand your understanding of the subject. You will also be given pictures of real building with different shaped rooves, and you must solve for the surface area and understand why you wouldn't use some parts of the shapes to add to

the Surface Area.
Task
Task
Through the next Web based activities you will complete and solve all situtations for the use of Surface Area. There will be many activities that you have to do. Upon completition of said activities, you will be asked to figure out the Surface Area of combined three-dimensional figures. Remember to take your time and focus to be able solve these problems.
Process
Process
In this portion you will be exploring the Web to learn and answer questions for Surface Area. It will get very repetitive, you are only going to be finding an equation and putting it to use. You will have two assignments per object. You will only have one assignment for the fourth and the final Object. There may be some partner projects. You can use this link for the equations of surface area. If you can not click on any of the links then copy and paste the url into the url bar.

Object 1 - Surface Area for: Rectangular Prisms and Cubes
Assigment 1 : In this assigment you must find an equation that you can use to solve for the Surface Area of a Rectangular Prism, or you can use the link above. Afterwords, by yourself you must solve numbers 1-9 using the equation that you had searched, do not do number 10. Use this link to answer those questions, and remember to show your work at all times. Don't forget to also explain the process of solving the figures.

Assignment 2 : In this assignment you must find an equation that you can use to solve for the Surface Area of a Cube, or you can use the link above Object 1. Afterwords, with a partner you must answer all the odd numbers of worksheet 3 and 4. The link below willl take you to the worksheet. The site has many worksheets on it, at the top of each page it says what worksheet number it is, answer only the odd questions on worksheet 3 and 4. You must show all of your work and explain how to solve every question.

By now you should be done with all of the questions, showing your work, and explaining how to solve them. These ones should have been easy to solve, if the next ones are not, you can go to sites like IXL. You can use it at anytime, including when you are working with a partner. You do not have to use only IXL, you can use anything other website that you find. This is going to be the style that the next three Objects will look like.

Object 2 - Surface area for: Triangular prisms and Square Pyramids
Assignment 1 : In this assginment you must first search up the equation for solving for the surface area of Triangular Prisms, the link above Object 1 does not provide the equation to this shape so you must research it yourself. After you find that equation or find how to solve a triangular prism, you and a partner must answer numbers 1-4, only solve for Surface Area. You must show your work and explain how you solved it as well.

Assignment 2 : In this assignment, you have got to research an equation to use for solving for the equation of the Surface Area in a Square Pyramid, the link above Object 1 does provide an equation for this shape so you may use it if you wish. Then you (and a partner if you want to, you do not have to) must answer questions 1-5 of the worksheet below. Use the link below to access that worksheet. Only solve for Surface Area, you may solve for the Lateral Area if you wish, but you do ot have to. Don't forget to show all of your work and explain how to solve each question.

Object 3 - Surface area for: Cones and Cylinders
Assignment 1 : In this assignment you have to search up an equation that can solve for the Surface Area of a Cone, or you can use the link above Object 1. Then you and a partner must complete numbers 1-6 of the worksheet you can access below. You will have to show your work for every problem, and explain how to solve every question (both must contain much detail). You can access the questions by clicking on the link below.

Assignment 2 : In this assignment you must search the web to find an equation that you can use to solve for the Surface Area of a cylinder, or you can use the link above Object 1, it provides two different examples on how to solve different cylinders, look at both just to be sure. After you have studied the equations, you must solve equation 1-6 on the worksheet below. Don't forget to show your work for every question, and explain how to solve each equation. You can access the worksheet by clicking on the link below.

Object 4 - Surface area for: Spheres
Assignment 1 : For this assignment you will have to find an equation for finding the Surface Area of a sphere, or you can use the link above Object 1. After you find the equation, you must answer question 1-9, but only the odd numbers. You can use the link below to find those questions, remember to show your work for everything and explain how to solve everything.

Object 5 - Surface area for: Combined Shapes
Assignment 1 : In this assignment you must use all the knowledge you gained from every other Object for this. There will be shapes composed of two other shapes so that you have to combine your knowledge from two other subjects. First, you must go over all the notes that you wrote on how to solve each shape, and then you must answer questions 1-4 on the worksheet below. You must show all of your work and explain how to solve everything as well. There is a link below for the worksheet.
