Welcome: Pseudoscience--What's It About?

Description: Identifying the meaning of pseudoscience and the difference between it and science

Grade Level: 9-11

Curriculum: Science

Keywords: Science, Pseudoscience, Scientific method

Have you ever heard about Pseudoscience? If not, let me explain what it is and why people mislead this word with Science, which is totally different.

Pseudoscience is a term used to refer to a group of beliefs, practices or 'statements' that claim to be real and factual but are totally incompatible with the Scientific method. This means that those practices may be presented in our society as true, but they are actually fake, and there is variety of them at the present time.

On the other hand, Science is also a group of statements, beliefs and practices that by contrast, have been tested several times and there is one or more methods to make sure they are factual.

Identifying and distinguishing both of them at the present time is highly important so that we can know what to trust and what to not.

Thanks to the activity above, we have mastered the difference of Science and Pseudoscience; we are able to explain the difference of them and realize about the plenty of practices that exist at the present time.

We all already know the importance of different opinions, thinkings and beliefs as well as the group work to realize about different opinions.
