Properties of Matter

Introduction

These are for the kindergarten science class. The standard for this lesson is: 

Students will be able to “Sort objects by observable properties, such as size, shape, color, temperature (hot or cold), weight (heavy or light) and texture” (CPALMS). 

Task

Organize different examples into gas, plasma, solid, or liquid.

Process

The student will go through a series of objects, and will have to sort them into the correct categories of solid, liquid, gas, or plasma.

Evaluation

The evaluation will be whether or not the student is able to accurately sort the object into their correct categories. 

Conclusion

Learning the different types of matter can be very important, and students will be able to determine what category and object belongs in.
