Prime Numbers

Introduction

A prime number is a number with factors of only 1 and itself. If a number is not prime it is composite. However, 0 and 1 are neither prime nor composite. The newest found prime number is 23 million digits long.  In fact, mathematicians have proved that there are infinite prime numbers.

Task

You are going to find all of the prime numbers between 1 and 100. You will be given a worksheet with number 1 through 100.

Process

On your worksheet, don't cross off 2, but cross off every multiple of 2. Next, cross out the multiples of 3. Find the next number that isn't crossed out and cross out all the multiples of that number. Continue until you have done all the multiples up to 10.
