Introduction
Throughout this WebQuest, we will learn what upper case and lower case letter's look like and sound like. We will be taking the time to visit Starfall.com and investigating their games, videos, and interactive activities to learn our letter sounds and get an idea of what these letters look like. You are able to use this website at home with your parents help!
Task
1. Each student will visit the link: https://www.starfall.com/h/abcs/?mg=k and complete the activities assigned each day.
2. Each student will create their own alphabet book where they will have the opportunity to write, trace, and color each letter.
3. As a class, students will watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUohq8UdWhY as a review to letters and their sounds.
4. Students will play a matching game in groups matching uppercase letters to lowercase letters.
Process
Step one: Students individually in school and at home will click on the link to view the activities on Starfall. They will complete 5 letters per day and 6 on the last day. Students can use teachers and parents for assistance with this.
Step two: After completing the online activities, the students will take out their alphabet book and practice tracing, writing, and coloring their letters for which they completed that day.
Step three: Students will as a group watch the YouTube video provided which is an alphabet song going over all of the letters and their sounds.
Step four: Students will get into groups of 2 or 3 and will match the uppercase letters with the lowercase letters.
Evaluation
The students will be evaluated by observation in the classroom of what they are learning. The teacher will take time to talk to each student, use flash cards, and observe carefully as they are matching letters.

My name is Christina Ortolani and I have been working with young children for 11 years. This lesson is intended to teach Pre-K children their ABC's, letter sounds, and to know the difference between their uppercase and lowercase letters. The standards associated with this lesson are, CC.1.1.PREK.D and CC.1.1.PREK.B. When creating this WebQuest, I used options from YouTube and Starfall for links for the students. These links can be used at home or in school and can be kept for the future, as well. Depending on the children and how quickly they can learn, this could be spread out over more than one week with less letters in one day. It could even be used as a part of the morning routine throughout almost a whole month.
