Introduction
"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."
Good morning boys & girls today we are going to be learning how the Texas Pledge goes.
Raise your hand if anyone knows what the Texas pledge is.
Can anyone tell me how it goes?
Don't worry we will all know how the Texas pledge goes by the end of the lesson.
Task
Have students line up with sings of each word of the pledge on the sign. Have students work together to put the words in the correct order. Stand back and observe them to see how they are doing. Offer help if they need it. Once the students have completed it correctly have each student stand back and recite it along with their peers, so they can see how the order of the words goes.
Process
Questions to ask your students:
1. Does the word sequence y'all put together make sense?
2. Are all the words in the correct order?
3. Does this activity help y'all with learning the pledge?
4. Is anyone still confused about the order of the pledge?
5. Do we need to go over it again?
6. Should I use this technique more in the classroom?
7. Did y'all enjoy this lesson?
Evaluation
I will evaluate students by taking time privately and have the students recite the Texas pledge to me.
I will be looking to see how knows all of the Texas pledge, some of the pledge, or who may not know any of it.
This information will be valuable when introducing new lessons.
Conclusion
Congrats boy and girls we have finished learning the Texas pledge.
You will now all be able to recite the Texas pledge every morning for announcements.
You can go home and show your families how smart you all are.
