Plastic pollution monitoring plan

Introduction

Many Indian towns, villages and rivers are heavily affected by plastic pollution.

Plastic isn’t collected or properly disposed so it ends in streets and rivers without any control. This leads to an environmental pollution caused by polimers of various composition, size and, in many cases, the release and human or animal absorption of plastic related organic compounds.

Task

Design an environmental monitoring plan in order to evaluate the pollution level of a specific urban area and close river.

Try to monitor plastic residue in the environment and, if possible, in the local flora and fauna.

Use between 200 to 400 words for the entire plan.

Steps suggested

After carefully studying the suggested resources, create a website describing the project.

Use the Google Site platform associated to your school account and create a page for every chapter of the project (General introduction, plastic and pollution overview, description of the area you are focusing on, sampling, sample testing)

Evaluation

The project will be evaluated using our standard evaluation grid
