Today you are science explorers and research collaborators! Your mission is to conduct research on the Plant Life Cycle then; you will work in groups with fellow future scientists to create a presentation and share on what you have discovered!

Students will analyze, apply and create. Students will learn the stages of the plant life cycle and then work collaboratively to create and present a slideshow in Canva demonstrating their understanding of how plants grow, reproduce, and continue their species.

- Research and learn about plant life cycle stages and key vocabulary words.
- Work in groups of 3-4 to create a presentation in Canva explaining the plant life cycle.

Multi-Day WebQuest
Day 1 Introduction and Research
Step 1: The WebQuest
- Interact with display seeds, flower, fruits or mature plants and/or watch the video. What do the items have in common? how do tiny seeds become large plants seed become large plants? Why do plants make flowers and fruits?
- Review diagram of the Plant Life Cycle Stages, pair up with a fellow science explorers and place the stages in the correct order.
- Research and explain Plant Life Cycle Stages.
Step 2: Organizing the Group
- Plant Life Cycle presentation- Science explorers will work in groups of 3-4 to create a presentation in Canva explaining the plant life cycle.
- Each presentation must include:
- Title Slide
- Introduction
- Plant Life Cycle Stages Explain each stage using (text, images and diagrams)
- Conclusion
- One interesting fact learned
- Quiz for the Class Create 3 questions to ask classmates.
Day 2 Create and Present
Step 3: Creating Your Presentation
- Each group choses or is assigned which plant life cycle stage(s) to present, each explorer in the group will be assigned a role. All information each of you are required to provide will be put into Google Docs, an online shared file where all your research will go. You can also communicate with you group here.
Step 4: Share Your What You Found
- Your groups presentation will be created in Canva and should include images diagrams, scientific vocabulary.
- Each researcher should take turns presenting and ask questions to the audience after the presentation.

Presentation Rubric:
Your team of researchers will be evaluated on content accuracy, plant life cycle stages, visuals, organization, presentation, skills and teamwork.

Conclusion
Congratulations! You have completed your research on the Plant Life Cycle! You can identify all stages of the plant life cycle and can explain how plants reproduce. You can work with a group to create a presentation and present information clearly to my classmates.
Enrichment Activity:
Germinate your own seeds at home! Plant bean seeds and keep a plant growth journal for two weeks. Record: Height, Number of leaves (if any), Drawings Observations. Compare your observations to the plant life cycle presented in class.

Teachers Instructions:
Before beginning review the internet resources ahead to make sure they are appropriate and cover the learning objectives you may add any additional resources if necessary. The plant life cycle diagram can be a handout or digital. For the presentation portion divide the class into groups of 3-4 and assign roles to each member of the group. Montior and provide assistance to the groups. As they create their presentations in Canva and sharing files in Google docs, provide support where needed. Be sure to have non presenting classmates taking notes while listening to presentations, provide note taking sheets.
