Plan Your Trip To Disney World!

Introduction

This Web Quest offers you a virtual plan for a vacation. Many people are not fortunate enough to go on a vacation. Because of this, you and your partners will take turn in the roles that you play in this webquest.

Task

In this scenario, you and your friends are going on a trip to Disney World for the week (7 days and 7 nights). You must include the travel time from New Jersey to Florida. You have a budget of $2,000 to share between the 3 of you. You must include flights, hotel arrangements, food pricing, Disney Park pricing and ticket options, and travel such as car, uber, bus, ect. Keep in mind, if you stay at a hotel, many of them near the parks will be higher in price, but they usually transport you for free to the parks! Your report will include:

Price of Transportation costs daily

Price of restaurant and food costs daily

Price of accommodations daily (where you will be staying)

Price of Tickets for the parks daily

A detailed plan of what you will be doing at the parks daily

Anything else you feel is necessary to add

Process

Divide the Responsibilities amongst the 3 of you:

Time Keeper- Makes sure the trip is only a week and that all Disney World parks are being visited

The Banker- Keeps budgets on track and makes sure there is enough money for the rest of the days that you will be staying

Efficiency Expert- Makes sure everyone stays on track and is on time daily

Once the trip has been planned, make a detailed report noting all expenses and detailed daily reports of how much is being spent a day, where the money is being spent, and how much you have left at the end of that day. Note any money left over is there is any at the end of the week.

 

 

 

 

 

Evaluation

Time was managed poorly and the trip was a disaster. Time was not detailed at all. Time was kind of used. Time was only outlined but with minor details. Time spent at the parks was fully used up with detailed plans. Very descriptive plans were set into plan and the trip was successful. The group really used up their time wisely.
Too much money was used or little to no budget was ever written. Too much money was used or the budget was poorly planned. Not everything was outlined. Money was used just right and the money budget was outlined with some detail. Money was used and there was some money left over. The budget is very outlined and detailed.
No one stayed on track. The group as a whole did not detail their assignment enough. Assignment not completed on time. The track was not kept completely and the assignment is only just completed with little to no detail. Assignment not completed on time. Good detail and the group kept on track. Assignment completed on time. Excellent detail and the group worked very much on track and completed the assignment on time.

 

Conclusion

You should feel more confident after the web quest with socializing with others in the classroom. You also get a sense of getting to work closely with other people and how it is to depend on each other. You should also note that without you, or any of your other members' roles, this assignment would not be completed. You should now also feel comfortable budgeting and know how to appropriately budget.
