Introduction
Welcome to your Philippine Political History WebQuest, fellow students! Today, you will go on a journey to the past and explore the different presidents of the Philippines, from Emilio Aguinaldo to Ferdinand ("Bongbong") Marcos, Jr. All of our Philippine Presidents have contributed many factors to make the Philippines what it is today. In this quest, you will learn more about them and see if their leadership styles are worth emulating by others.
You may want to look around your community for a while and see if there have been any significant changes in people's lives from the past to the present. Did their way of living improve? Did it produce more jobs for workers? Did it provide affordable commodities for the average Filipino?
As you start your travel, you may need a notebook or paper to write down significant details on your time travel experience. You can also use your cellphones and laptops to take important information, but please "DON'T GET CAUGHT!" Someone might see you as a time traveler, and it might change the course of our future. Let's not prolong your excitement any further. Fasten your seatbelts and hold on to your notebooks real tight because this will be a bumpy ride!
Task
For this WebQuest, you are tasked to research, discuss, and design a timeline representing the Philippine Presidents, their time of administration, and their contributions or events that happened during their administration. After completing this task, I want you to choose one of the following Presidents you want to emulate and discuss why they are worth emulating. Put this in the last part of your presentation. You can make use of different technology tools, such as Canva and Prezi, to make your timeline creative.
Process
1. You are going to watch an 8-minute video about the different Presidents in the Philippines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGP-aNl5G44
It would be best to take notes or type the necessary information linked to each president.
2. To substantiate your learning. You are going to read an article on the History of the Philippines: https://www.britannica.com/topic/history-of-Philippines
3. After getting the necessary information, you can start making your timeline. Be careful with your dates and descriptions since you may mix them with other presidents.
You can search this link to give you an idea for making the design of your timeline: https://www.pinterest.com/mccready0214/timeline-infographic-design-idea…
4. After finishing your timeline, choose one of the following presidents you want to emulate. Write your own opinion and beliefs on why you chose this president. Substantiate your answer with a minimum of 5 sentences.
