PE WebQuest: Personal Fitness Plan

Introduction

Welcome to your PE Fitness WebQuest! Your mission is to create a personal fitness plan that is personalized to your goals, interests, and lifestyle. In this quest you are going to explore different types of exercises, understand how fitness affects your body, and finally design a weekly plan that will help you become stronger and healthier. 

Task

By the end of this WebQuest you will: 

1. Learn the 5 components of physical fitness. 

2. Identify your own fitness goals. 

3. Research different types of exercises. 

4. Build a weekly fitness plan 

5. Present your fitness plan(Poster, slideshow, or google doc).

Process

Step 1: Learning the basics

Use the website below to learn more about the 5 components of physical fitness.

Write down: 

  • What are the 5 components? 
  • Why are they important? 

Step 2: Setting goals 

Answer these questions: 

  • What do I want to improve? It can be flexibility, endurance, or strength. 
  • How many days per week do I want to exercise? 
  • What kinds of activities do I enjoy? 

Step 3: Learn about different exercises:

Step 4: Build your weekly plan

Create a 5-day fitness plan with: 

  • A warm-up
  • Workout(2-4 exercises per day. You have to have at least two exercises) 
  • Cool down/stretch 
  • For example: Monday: Warm-up is a 2 minute jog along with a dynamic warm-up(high knees, butt kicks, karoke, dog and bush, lunges). Workout: Squats 3 sets of 10 reps, hamstring curls 3 sets of 10 reps, and lungs 2 sets of 8 reps each leg. Cool-down: Stretching: Touch your toes 3 sets of 10 seconds, quad pull 3 sets of 10 seconds each leg. Must have two days of exercise. 

Step 5: Create your presentation 

Choose one: 

  • Google Slides presentation 
  • Canva poster
  • Google Docs

Include: 

  • Your fitness goals
  • What you learned 
  • Your weekly fitness plan
  • 1 fact about exercise or health
