Introduction
Students will be learning about four parts of speech: verbs, nouns, adjectives, and interjections.
Students will learn what these words mean, how to use them in a sentence, and how to tell others about them.
It is good for students to know what these parts of speech are and how to use them to write sentences. Parts of speech help you talk about how you feel, what you want, or how things look.
Task
Task
Students will be split up into 4 groups and given a part of speech. They will have to give a definition of the part of speech, tell how to use it in a sentence, and then teach what they learned to their classmates.
Students will be graded out of a possible 12 points from the rubric in this lesson.
This assignment will broken up into 3 classes that will be explained later.
Process
First, you will break up into 4 different groups with 5 people in each group.
I will then give each of the four groups a different part of speech. (verb, noun, adjective, or interjection)
You will then use a website listed to do research on your part of speech and write down the definition, how to find that part of speech in a sentence, and how to use that part of speech in sentence.
Website for research
Parts of speech!
This is a GREAT site to use and is very helpful! Note: You may use other websites for extra help but I want your final definition to come from this site. There is a definition for each part of speech I assigned. This website is very easy to use.
Now for the fun part!
After doing all your research on your part of speech, you get to put your information into action!
You all get to pretend you have been hired by an educational TV Show! The TV Show, "Education Nation" wants you to come up with a skit, poem, or song that explains your part of speech. you have to define the part of speech and teach the audience how to find and use your part of speech in a sentence. You can divide the work up between all the members of your group, but everyone MUST participate n the presentation. BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!!!
