Introduction
Link to existing knowledge:
- Ask learners what they think a paragraph formatting is and how can it be apply .
- Introduce the topic by explaining the importance to have know paragraph formatting.
- Allow them to explain what columns and comments are from their general knowledge.
Task
Class activity 1:
Open the word document called traditional Foods and edit as follows:
- Rename the document as your surname and name
- Change the orientation of the document to portrait
- Insert a Column with a line in between and the word “vegetable” must appear on the right
- Change the top and bottom margins to 2.5cm
- Insert comments on the names of the traditional foods
- change the line spacing of the document to 1.5 and 6 before and 6 after

Direct instruction: Class Discussion
- Explain to learners what is a page layout.
- Discuss why is it important to have a page layout.
- Explain what a comment is and how to insert a comment in Microsoft word.
Discuss the use of comments in a document.
I will make use of practical demonstration on how to insert:
- margins,
- columns and
- Line spacing
- Page orientation
- Rename document
Provide 10 minutes of the lesson for questions and provide clarity where needed.
