Introduction
“Out of this World!” This lesson is designed to educate students on the different planets in our solar system and what makes them different from out own. Doing this lesson will incorporate standards from Science, Language Arts, and Visual Arts.
Task
Utilizing computers and or tablets that are available for use, have the students split into seven groups and research their assigned planet. Each group will research, record, and assemble information gathered to present to the class.
Process
Begin with a brief overview of the solar system and the planets that are included. Once this is completed, divide the class into seven groups and assign each group a different planet from our solar system that is not Earth. Make sure to include any ELL students in a group with bilingual students. As the class begins to work on the assignment, make sure to “satellite” around the room and address any issues on an individual level. Once you have given adequate amount of time for research and development it is then time for the students to present.
