Introduction
We live on planet Earth and we live day by day not knowing what surrounds us. We do not know what other cool planets surround us. Today we will research planets, find their special characteristics, and learn some fun facts. Get your rocketship ready we are going on a trip!
Task
Students will work in teams of three. They will become astronauts an explore the outer space. You guys will look for information to show off to the world. We will see for the first time ever our planets. Each team will have a planet and get interesting facts to show of to the country. Students will go over the solar system. They will identify the distance from the sun to each planet. After the trip students will make their own model and have questions beside each planet.
Process
Step 1: Find information over your planet. I have placed some links on here that will help you with your trip.

How many moons does your planet have?
Is your planet considered a Terrestrial planet or Jovian planets? What is the difference between these two planets?
Step 2: The Earth revolves once around the sun. It revolves every 365 days making it "One Year". This is not the case for other planets some planets revolve slower and other fasters. It is your job to write notes on how long your planet takes to make "One Year".

How long would it take for your next birthday?
Would you like for the year to go slower, faster, or stay the same? Explain why?
Step 3: The planets can be enormous compared to Earth. Make sure to add the size, weight, and age of your planet.

What is the distance from sun?
How old is your planet?
How did the planet got the name?
Step 4: With all this new information you have discovered. You need proof that you were actually there. Make sure to set up a model and few items that can represent information on your planet.
Step 5: After creating the model with your members each team will place their planets in order. This will help for the exhibit to look professional for news reporters. Make sure you have your journal article ready. It might be placed on the newspaper!!
Evaluation
The work will be evaluated by the rubric I have placed down below. Make sure to take a look to have an idea on what I am expecting. Have fun with exploring and learning new information on the planets that surround us.

Conclusion
Thank you for your hard work. I hope you guys found new information about planets that surround us. There are many facts that not many us new. It is so cool to known there are other planets with the same characteristic as Earth and others that are completely different.
