CONSEQUENCES OF URBANIZATION

Introduction

INTRODUCTION

The human population in the earth is growing more and more, as result rural and urban areas are affected and this situation increases the necesity of resources and besides increases problems on environment.

Urbanization causes an increase in the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere, a higher need to clear lands, and a loss of biodiversity in virgin forests on a global scale.

Students have to be concious about urbanization problems to propose ideas to keep nature and take care about environment.

Cities draw migrants with the promise of higher living standards. City residents have greater access to health care, more employment and opportunity and access to more social and cultural events.

A vast number of people in urban areas are threatened by homelessness, health hazards and violence among other things. These may affect a portion of the urban population directly, but their indirect effects are felt by the whole society.
