Introduction

You are responsible for researching a career and sharing the information with your classmates. The research should be driven by your own interests, skills, abilities and values.
This research is valuable! It will help guide the class choices you make throughout high school and the post-secondary option you ultimately choose for a successful career!
CTE Focus:
- Research and compare careers that match your interests.
- Prepare criteria for personal career planning, and use the decision making process to formulate tentative career plans.
- Compare salaries and employability for different education levels.
- Create a visual presentation outliningyour chosen career for a virtual career fair.
- Review 2 career projects from classmates and give feedback.

Reflect on your Careers and Self Discovery Project:
- What did you like/dislike about the research experience?
- If you could do the project again, what would you do differently? Why?
- What suggestions can you make to improve this project?
Conclusion
The Career Exploration project allows your to recognize your strengths, abilities and interests and plan for the future. Update your career search as your interests change. Talk to people who are working in careers that interest you. Ask them about their experiences! Ask if you can "shadow" them for a day to really get a feel for what they do.
Remember to complete the Career Commentary sheet for at least 2 students in the class. Sheets will be provided by your teacher.
