Introduction

INTRODUCTION

Hi dear students! Let’s practice modals, in this webquest you can find information about some people who had survived in different situations and how they used different materials to create tools that helped them survive.

Complete the different tasks below and use modals to describe how you can use materials (A plane crash, tsunami, hurricane or earthquake)





Task

TASKS:

Choose a disaster (plane crash, tsunami, hurricane or earthquake) imagine you’re alone after it and you only have with you:

  • a half bottle of water

  • a match

  • your shoelaces

  • a sweater

  • a hatchet

 

Use your creativity to make a video explaining how to use those materials / tools to survive in the situation you chose. Remember to use MODALS.

 

Process

Complete the following activities step by steps:

  •  Individual: Investigate about one disaster (plane crash, tsunami, hurricane or earthquake), what are the consequences, the effects that produces that disaster.
  •  Pairs: Share your investigation about the disaster. What do they have in common? What are the differences? Use a graphic organizer.

 

  • Team:  Make groups of four according to the disaster that was given, investigate which was the country more affected from that disaster.

Ask to people who lived or survive that disaster, what did they do? How did they feel? Make like and interview so they can take to you about his or her experience.

Later you will create as a team a video in which you have to talk about what would you do if you were in that situation using the correct modals, each member must be recorded because everyone has a different point of view.

Evaluation

You’ll get 20 pts per each part of this project with a grand total of 100.

I’ll check:

1. Scene description (Written work).                          20 pts.

2. Creativity in your researching papers.                   10 pts.

3. Use correct grammar structure.                             10 pts.

4. Use of internet resources.                                      10 pts.

5. Individual content research.                                   10 pts.

6.  C-map.                                                                  10 pts.

7.  Participation, responsability.                                 10 pts.

8.  Video presentation.                                               20 pts.

Conclusion

CONCLUSION:

When you finish this project you will become an expert using Modals and also in surviving strategies that you can use in real situation if you need it.
