Did you know the United States of America is made up of 50 states? Each state is unique in it's own way. Lets explore each of our states by learn some fun facts about them!

Task
Students will visit the provided webpage to find out five facts about a state in the United States of America assigned to them. The students will color the flag of the state they were assign and attach a typed copy of the facts they learned to the flag. Students will write the facts in complete sentences and in the form of a paragraph.
By the end of this WebQuest students will be able to identify the flag of the state they were assigned in the United States of America as well as give five facts about the state. This will be accomplished by the students:
- Using the WebQuest to find information about the state that assigned
- Reading information listed on the webpage provided about the state assigned

- Crayons

- Word processing

Research
First, locate your state on the website below:
Next, write down the following facts about the state:
- Capitol
- Nickname
- Flower
- Bird
- Zoo (only one)
Essay
After finding the information listed above write the answers in complete sentences. Organize the sentences into a paragraph. Be sure to use proper puncuation.
The paragraph should be:
- Times New Roman Font
- Size 12 point font
- Double spaced

The paragraph should be in this format with the introduction sentence being
"The state I researched was ________."
There will be five supporting sentences instead of just three.
The conclusion sentence should be formatted as
"I researched the state of _______ and I learned that _________________."

Locate the state flag on the website given. Color the blank flag handout to match the original state flag using crayons.

Conclusion
Now that we have reached the end of the WebQuest students should have learned the capitol, nickname, flower, bird, and one zoo in the state that they were assigned. They should have also learned how the states' flag looks and become familiar with its colors.
